Event Info: The Dark Tower, lead by Master Alton, will seek
to summon the Goddess Lloth to gain her favor, on the next Dark Moon.

All are invited: Saturday, March 22, 2008, 8 pm pst - Dark Tower in Trammel
(Outside Trinsic Gates @ 106'S 32'E)

The young dark haired ranger from Skara Brae watched
the entrance to the temple with a worried expression,
his hands rested on his tautly drawn Yew bow as he
listened and waited. For several days, he had been
following the trail of a missing rancher's daughter
named Beth who was taken from her family's home two
days ago. He was told by the girl's family that a
small band of cloaked figures had raided the family

home and dragged Beth screaming into the night. Soon
the ranger's patience was rewarded and a lone shrouded
man emerged from the cave-like depths of the temple,
clenching a bloodied sword in one hand. The
swordsman's eyes searched instinctively to where the
ranger was hiding, then the swordsman intoned a few
arcane words and was gone in a flash of ether. Without
warning, the ranger felt a burst of intense pain and
then he faded into unconsciousness.

When the ranger woke up he felt groggy, stiff and
cold. The broken stone slab that supported the
ranger's body was wet with rain. By the dim light of a
flickering brazier, the ranger could see an enormous
tattered spider web swaying overhead. The ranger tried
to get up, but he was bound by barbed cords that cut
deeply into his flesh, with the slightest movement. He
cried out in pain and was then that the young ranger
saw his captors.

Three drow elves began selecting implements; finely
edged runic-blades, forceps and vials, from crates
near the temple steps. They did not speak as they
began their work. They surrounded the bound ranger, a
cold hand reached down to hold the rangers outer thigh
with one hand as the other hand brought down a small
black blade. The ranger cried out only to have a
thick, foul smelling rag shoved into his mouth.

Then another took his place and began a small incision
on the outer thigh. The third drow followed, expertly
skinning him with cutting sheers. The ranger could
only listen in horror as his flesh and skin were
removed with steady rhythmic snips. Waves of agony
surged through the ranger's body until darkness at
last came to him, absolving him of his pain.

------------------------------------------------------

The ranger woke much later and he wished he was still
unconscious, pain seared through him with unrelenting
fury. The ranger was wheeled before the Priestess of
Lloth, bound to on an odd chair.

He was bound tightly and could not move his face or
neck. His body felt hollow, he knew that there was no
flesh on his face or body because he could feel his
raw, exposed flesh hanging without any skin to support
it.

The Drow Priestess sat on a small silver throne near a
burning pyre of skulls. The ranger could also see a
pit filled with thousands of tiny spiders that teemed
in hungry anticipation. "Why are you here on the
Temple Grounds, Rivven filth?" The priestess asked the
ranger.

The ranger tried to speak but his words came slowly
and were strained "Skara...Brae...disappearance."

The Priestess only nodded, and made a gesture to her
attending acolyte. The acolyte, opened a small jar and
removed a thick strip of meaty skin, dangling it
mockingly before the ranger. The ranger knew that it
was all that was left of his bicep because he could
see the tattooed outline of a stag's head. He tried to
turn away in revulsion but could not. Then the
acolyte dropped the meat into the pit. The tiny
spiders swarmed safely out of the way as the meat
landed with a thud, then they eagerly devoured it,
snapping and striking at each other with their fangs.
Although the ranger did not understand why, he felt
each bite as the spiders consumed his flesh, he
struggled against his bonds, again feeling the barbs
bite deeply into what was left of his ruined body.

"This interloper is of no interest to us." The
Priestess said imperiously. "Give him to the pit." The
acolytes cut the ranger free and pushed the chair
forward, causing the ranger to fall effortlessly.
"Lloth tlu laoles" the Drow said as one...as the
ranger died.

The Priestess turned then to the shrouded swordsman.
"Alton there is more that must be done if Lloth's
favor is to be gained. Lloth grows tired of these
petty gifts and requires from you a greater sacrifice
if you and the Dark Tower are to have her blessing.
Return by the dark of the moon with riches and
captives worthy of Lloth's blade."
